Italian National Research Council – Institute for Sustainable Plant Protection

The Institute for Sustainable Plant Protection (IPSP) was established on 1 May 2014 by the merger of two pre-existing institutes, IVV (Institute of Plant Virology) and IPP (Institute for Plant Protection) of the National Research Council (CNR) , both already engaged in problems related to plant health. The IPSP consists of the Turin branch, the Turin secondary office, the Florence secondary office, the Bari secondary office and the Portici secondary office (NA), with a staff of about 120 units. This territorial distribution covers the different national productive realities, and allows an integration in the national economic context. The IPSP represents the most numerous and important research group in the various disciplines related to the protection of agricultural and forestry crops in the CNR and is a recognized center of international importance.
